بازی های کودکان (بروگل)

 بازی‌های کودکان یک تابلو روغن روی بوم، توسط هنرمند رنسانس فلاندری پیتر بروگل بزرگ است که در سال ۱۵۶۰ نقاشی شده است. این بازی در حال حاضر در موزه Kunsthistorisches در وین نمایش گذاشته می‌شود.  کل ترکیب پر از کودکانی است که بازی های متنوعی را انجام می دهند.  بیش از نود بازی مختلف که در آن زمان توسط کودکان انجام می شد شناسایی شده است.قصد هنرمند از این اثر جدی‌تر از تدوین یک دایره‌المعارف مصور از بازی‌های کودکان است، هرچند که حدود هشتاد بازی خاص شناسایی شده است.  بروگل به کودکان نشان می‌دهد که در بازی‌هایشان با جدیتی که بزرگسالان در فعالیت‌های ظاهراً مهم‌تر خود نشان می‌دهند، جذب شده‌اند.  اخلاق او این است که در نظر خدا بازی های کودکان به اندازه فعالیت های والدینشان اهمیت دارد.  این ایده در ادبیات معاصر بسیار آشنا بود،در یک شعر فلاندری ناشناس که در سال ۱۵۳۰ توسط یان ون دوزبورخ در آنتورپ منتشر شد، بشر با کودکانی مقایسه می‌شود که کاملاً غرق در بازی‌ها و نگرانی‌های احمقانه خود هستند.

Children’s Games is an oil on canvas painting by Flemish Renaissance artist Pieter Bruegel the Great, painted in 1560. The game is currently on display at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. The whole composition is full of children playing various games. More than ninety different games played by children at that time have been identified. Bruegel shows children absorbed in their play with the seriousness adults show in their seemingly more important pursuits. His moral is that in God’s eyes children’s games are as important as their parents’ activities. The idea was very familiar in contemporary literature, in an anonymous Flemish poem published in Antwerp in 1530 by Jan van Duesburch, mankind is compared to children who are completely engrossed in their silly games and cares.
